Life with Luke Lately – One Month Update

January 20th, 2016

This last month has pretty much flown by
(don’t blink so they say or whatever)

Luke is now weighing in at 9 lbs at a height of over 23 inches. It’s been a pretty easy month. Luke eats. sleeps. poops. and pees. repeats. He’s starting to get a little more gassy, which may be from my food choices (which never seem to be the best) but for the most part he is a happy little baby. He grunts and groans and I’ve even heard some coos. He is strong lifting his head at tummy time and he’s even accidentally rolled himself over from tummy to back a few times.

He is still eating every 2 to 3 hours, this also includes at night. so although he sleeps in his crib and is actually pretty good about just being laid down and going to sleep I still have to get up in the middle of night for a few feedings. Most of the time he’ll go back down pretty easily but sometimes it takes a little more time.

The big kids are adjusting well and love their brother. They are still on their Nintendo kick so they keep themselves pretty entertained but I have tried to make special time for things that don’t include a tv. but sometimes I’m bad and we go days playing games.

I love this little family o mine.

Looking back on 2015

January 4th, 2016

It’s hard to believe that it’s 2016, but alas another year has passed.
This years biggest event was definitely the birth of our 3rd child, Luke Johnny.

Other than that nothing really too notable happened. I continue to stay at home with the kids, Paul continues to work from home, and we continue to manage to scrape by. We all had birthdays (Paul, Wade, Me, and Luna) and in July we took a trip to Kings Dominion which the kids loved and even though due to pregnancy I couldn’t ride anything I still enjoyed.

I’m excited to see what 2016 has in store for us and am so very thankful for all the 2015 had to offer. Here’s to a year of good health, love, and laughter.

Happy Christmas!

December 30th, 2015

Christmas eve was pretty low key. There were matching pajamas and cookies and pictures by the tree. then it was off to bed for sugar plums to dance in their heads.

The morning was filled with presents and a visit by the Hluskos to exchange gifts and be in good company.

Later my mom picked up Luna and Wade and took them over uncle Tommy’s for a Goldsmith Christmas where we met up with them later with baby Luke to visit for just a few minutes.

All and all it was a great day and I am so thankful for everyone who helped to make the day so special and memorable, not just for me but for my kids as well. And although Baby Luke pretty much slept all through Christmas he really was the best gift I could of received, I find myself in awe of him and the feeling of having a newborn in the house again. My heart overflows with love for this whole little family of mine and the extended family that has always been a constant of strength and joy for me.

Happy Christmas! may light and love shine upon you.

Once Upon A Time

December 30th, 2015

Once upon a time
there was a handsome prince,
named Luke

And he would walk along the world
shinning his light even in the darkest of nights
standing tall and burning bright.

Luna’s Story | Wade’s Story

hello world. meet luke.

December 22nd, 2015

This brand new baby boy o mine entered the world on December 18th, 2015 at 1:15pm. Sharing his day of birth with one of the strongest woman I have been lucky to know and love, my mau mau vera kasen.

Weighing in at 7lbs3oz at a height of 20.5inches long he is sleepy, sneezey, squeaky, little squealer. and I simply adore him.

This little dude is a wonderful fit and addition to our family. The kids have been nothing but kind and gentle and it has been so wonderful welcoming luke into our hearts and home.
